Museum of Natural History

I’ve been so excited for today. First of all, Kyle and Carrie Anna flew in last night and the kids have been anxiously waiting to see “Ky-kle and Car-Anna” for days. Although I try to do fun things with the kids as often as possible, there are certain special things that I feel are important for Jordan to be with us. There are just some places I want the kids to be able to experience with their dad…even if they won’t remember or don’t care… I care. The Museum of Natural History was one of those places. We have a book that has illustrations of different sites around New York and one of the pictures is of the big dinosaur at the museum, so the kids (or Jozlyn, at least) were quite excited. We have a book that has illustrations of different sites around New York and one of the pictures is of the big dinosaur at the museum, so the kids (or Jozlyn, at least) were quite excited. They have exhibits that are available for viewing at all times, but then they have special exhibits that are available at certain times. While we were there, there was a large “Mummy exhibit” and I just couldn’t decide if it was something I was intrigued by! It didn’t matter though. It was $27/ticket and we were not about to pay that for 6 people. The museum itself has a “suggested donation” of $23 I believe, but you can literally walk in paying anything you want! So it is great for a cheap day for the whole family. There is also a food court there, so you really can spend a good bit of time here when you visit. Tip- have your kids watch “Night at the Museum” before you go!

I was glad we got to share this day, not only with daddy but Uncle Ky-kle and Aunt Carrie Anna. If you make it to the city, you really should stop by here. The kids loved seeing all of the animals and exhibits! And we got to talk about the Bible, dinosaurs and the flood! (If you don’t think the Bible talks about dinosaurs…check out Job 40).

(sorry photos are blurry. museum lighting is really dark)

This looks like an oil painting in the picture, but its actually models (they may be taxadermy animals..not sure) in front of a painted drop. Their exhibits are so beautiful.
Kendall only wanted Kyle or Carrie Anna!
see? ha

they’ve been watching Tarzan recently, so this was really exciting.

after the museum, we went to The Meatball Shop for lunch. Of course, they have amazing different kinds of meatballs, but they also have awesome “ice cream sandwiches”…
kid approved!

If you are in the Upper West area, you’ve got to try the Meatball Shop. Upper West has so many fun treasures to see. I’m excited to explore this neighborhood more.

Thanks for checking in guys! I can’t wait to take the kids to more museums in the future!  We’ll keep you posted!

Love,

the Grizzards (all 6 of us this time!)
