Thought y’all might like to hear an update straight from us!

Click if you want to see more about the show Jordan and I are participating in. It’s called Celebrity Confessions! We will be understudying. If ya’ll are in town on show days, we’d love to see you at the theater!

We also ventured to Astoria today (in Queens) to try out yet another playground! ha. I feel like its just an awesome place to meet other parents and talk about the neighborhood. And it was. I’m still dumbfounded by how kind everyone is. They fell asleep on the train on the way home again. We tire these kids out pretty good! Here are some of our favorite shots from today.

we pushed someone a bit too far.

We look forward to checking out some areas that we heard about today. Including Sunny Side, Queens. Anybody been there or had friends from there? Let me know in the comments!

We are a family of four just trying to figure out what our "new normal" looks like in Manhattan! I'm Kayla, a 29-year-old creative with a passion for theater and writing. Jordan is a musician and experience pastor with a heart that loves people. And we have two awesome little girls, Jozlyn and Kendall. Our house is crazy...always full of energy and laughter.... and we have no idea what we're doing! Help us figure it out as we go!

Thank so so much for how open and honest you are with everything that is going on. We will definitely be praying for your family. Love reading your blog! Miss you friend!

  • Emily Lourcey says:

I’m so glad you’re blogging! I know social media has changed a lot since Rob and I married and moved away 10 years ago but blogging was such a good way for me to communicate with my family and friends and I didn’t feel so lonely while being so far away. We are praying for you guys!

  • Janean says:

The Walker girls miss Jozlyn too!

  • LaTrelle says:

It is an adjustment but God is in this and He will provide the way. Praying for peace and joy for the entire family. Excited about the play and I can’t wait to hear about your ministry as it unfolds at Calvary Baptist and beyond. When I lived up there, it was in Rye, NY. (worked in the city) 30 minutes by train so I’m praying you find a burrow closer that you love. Hugs and keep smiling. We all love and miss you guys. (and oh… that is where I learned to stop saying y’all)

  • Monek' Smith says:

Love, miss and praying for you guys!!

  • Charla Long says:

I will be praying for you. How many times have we sung that song – Trust and Obey – sounds simple, but how incredibly hard. I’m excited for y’all and I’ll be praying God covers your transition with hope and peace and joy!

  • Lydia says:

Such a great post – I loved your video and realness. LOVE the picture of dad sitting on the sidewalk and letting daughter know she is significant. HUGE right there – love that kind of love!
